Weekend Adventures [Oct. 1st, 2007|01:14 pm]

[Current Location |Towson, MD]
[mood |chipperchipper]
[music |Evanescence ~ Eternal]

Saturday, H and I went on a Cystic Fibrosis charity club ride, wherein I learned how to stay out of his way when he's cornering, and we were RAILING. :D Saturday afternoon was spent running some errands and generally lazing around the house. Sunday, we headed up to Shepherdstown, WV for the Italian Motofest. Pics were taken, bikes were drooled over, and a bunch of fun was had by all. :D Instead of re-posting the pics here, I'm just going to provide a link to the forum posting...go ogle! :D

Follow the link to see Ducs in a row!

*Wave* Hey! I don't own a Duc at the moment, but my fiancee has two ('05 800 SS--for sale!!, and '03 749S). On order is a 2008 Tricolore. We've been to two trackdays at VIR so far, and plan to go back in October for a third one. :) If anyone's interested in peeking, all my VIR posts are public, and tagged, so feel free to take a gander! :)

sete gibernau breaks sepang lap record by over a second [Jan. 25th, 2006|01:17 pm]

Ducati on top once again at Sepang Test´s final day
Report, 25/01/06

Ducati Marlboro continued from where they left off in the third and final day of the Test in Sepang. Today it was again Sete Gibernau´s turn to head the leaderboard. The Spaniard, with a lap of 2´01.03- the best time of the entire 3 day test-overcame his teammate Loris Capirossi by less than three thousandths of a second.

Marco Melandri took third position with a fast lap which left him a breath away from the time achieved by the Ducatis. This came after he was somewhat off the pace on the Tuesday test. Dani Pedrosa continued his fast and consistent performances, closing the Malaysia Test with the fourth fastest lap. Valentino Rossi, Nicky Hayden, Shinya Nakano, Randy de Puniet, Toni Elías and Chris Vermeulen completed the top ten.

All of the teams, with the exception of Kawasaki Racing who extend their training program to stay an extra day, will bid farewell to the Malaysian circuit today until the preseason returns to Sepang in February. Next week Honda, Kawasaki and Ducati will test in Phillip Island, whilst Yamaha and Suzuki MotoGP will take to the track at the start of next month in Qatar.

hello [Jan. 13th, 2006|05:01 am]

[music |Mogwai - Yes! I Am a Long Way From Home]

Hello, there. I just joined this community and I thought I'd say hello. I have been riding a Vespa ET4 for about half a year and I decided to add a Ducati to the proverbial "stable". I picked up a 1999 Monster 750 about three weeks ago and I'm having a blast.

The previous owner made a few cosmetic changes, but nothing major. I'm not planning on doing many mods, but I am thinking of picking up a Sargent comfort seat and a Ducati Performance tach.

hey. I'm new to this commuity and just thought I'd tell you why I joined it. I'm only 14 (not old enough to ride a bike on the street),therefore I ride dirtbikes. my dad however, is a ducati freak. it does help that he made a fortune in the insurance buisness. he is trying to collect every limited edition ducati. so far he has a fila, a ben bostrom signature, 2 mh 900's, and a monster mob. there is also a troy baylis replica on the way. all of those are in my living room. he is currently racing a suzuki(ugh) in the southeast ccs series and is doing very well. go to sponserhouse.com adn search for find what to see his racebike. next time I post I'll try to include pictures.

2 months to go... [Feb. 13th, 2005|01:34 pm]

[mood |amusedamused]
[music |Ministry - Just One Fix]

so, it's dead quiet in here.

What's everybody up to while your Duc sits in hibernation? What is it that occupies your brain to distract you from the thought of it just sitting there unused? And when you can't get that bike out of your head, what helps you cope? :)

Here's what I've got:

  • Normally I'd be skiing, but my right knee is a little funky this winter :(

  • Tai chi - I practice more in the winter b/c most of my interests are outdoors and this is a slow time for me. Also good for the funky knee, which is slowly improving.

  • hanging out with friends. I'm a bit more into motivating my friends to do stuff during the winter months when I'm less able to entertain myself :)

  • spending a lot of time with the new girl :) Fear not, she's known me for a couple of years, she knows it's off to the woods as soon as the weather changes :D

  • then when it comes to sheer coping... reading many things motorcycle related (articles, web sites, forums, anything!)

  • leaning into corners whilst driving my truck, I've managed to refrain from wearing the helmet though.

  • and of course just generally counting the days. I figure I'll pull her out of storage on April 20th before the start of a new month in the storage container. Then hopefully it's the start of my first FULL season of riding! WOOHOO!

[music |death in vegas - girls]

Hi all,

The name's Rob. I'm from Woburn, MA and I ride a 2002 Ducati 900Sport. I figured, why not check the LJ world for fellow Duc pilots. Seems I've found some. :)
